Outgoing links without passing PR

Hi folks

I am an affiliate with a large company who I will be passing business to, but I would prefer to keep my pagerank internal to me site.

Do javascript links pass PR nowadays, or are they still ignored by the big G?

Is there a better method, such as an internal redirect script?

Best regards
Laurence

hi shady,

we solved it by having a internal redirect, which is also not allowed for bots in the robots.txt.

Thanks barn_de, sometimes the obvious eludes me!

Sure! The basic premise is that the more links you have going out from a page, the less pagerank is distributed to each page. Obviously, it is beneficial to me to allocate all my pagerank to my own pages, therefore making them rank higher in serps.

It is my job to pass business to my client, but I do not wish to enhance his search engine ranking which ultimately may cause me to generate less sales through my site and therefore less commission!

In order to achieve this, I simply want to stop SEs from recognising the links to his site which ensures my pages are allocated 100% of the available pagerank and therefore retain my hard earned rankings for myself!

Best regards

Page as in "single page" or page as in "site"?

Own pages as in "own pages from own sites with different domain names you link to from the (single) own page in question"?

Page as in single page - pagerank is assigned to individual pages.

Own pages as in "own pages from own sites with different domain names you link to from the (single) own page in question"?

I am refering to pages within the same domain. I wouldn't tend to cross link between my own sites nowadays, although I may grant myself one external link!
