But Yahoo! obviously does not like my main site as well as google does. Yahoo is giving me about 100 visitors less per day than they did with the Google index.
It's not too big of a deal for me because since the switch, Google has been bringing me about 50 more per day than before.
TBH i have seen much the reverse. The google base of hits for me seemed to be surfers, not really wanting the services my site offered apart from looking at a few picture and readibng some stories. (no i dont run porn sites). Now although google gives me less hits and yahoo msn a few more ... I find that the inktomi users .. msn yahoo .. seem to be more serious about wanting something.
This is just a personal opinion and does seem a bit startnge that you experiencing the complete opposite .
I would be curious to know if those who have been given good ranking in the new Yahoo results if their conversions have gone up. This would gives us some idea if Yahoo traffic produces better conversions or not.
This is not ment to be in anyways personally offensive .. please dont take it as such ... but when I oreder a limited edition copy of lord of the rings from "something that sarts with A and end with "AZON" why does it always come battered and bruised?

Before February 18th:
70% "G"
15% "Y"
15% "MSN and others"
3-7% conversion ratio
After February 18th:
50% "G"
35% "Y"
15% "MSN and others"
1-5% conversion ratio
Funny thing is with the the percentage of traffic from both google and yahoo they make up for closer to the 1-3% area, with MSN and others giving me a higher ratio.
I see a few different signs and I am uncertain what to make of it yet...
Here are some facts:
We are listed 6 on G and 14 on Y for our $KW
We were listed 5 on G and 4 on Y for our $KW
Conversions are way down
Traffic is steady and seems to be increasing.
We went from having over 300 pages indexed in Yahoo... thanks to the Google feed to now having 3 (Threeeee!) thanks to Ink
So... while we seem to be getting more traffic, and that comes from getting less on Yahoo the conversions are much lower which makes me believe that whatever G is providing is not as accurate now as it was Pre-Brandy
ARC
Conversions plunged immediately after the switch but recovering now.
4 possible explanations :
1) new visitors from G need time to decide to buy
2) repeat visitors from Y couldn't find the site anymore (since people are too lazy to bookmark sites so they use search).
3) its the season when credit cards bills are due
4) Y's visitors are more ready to buy, G's visitors just want info
People think Y's visitors are more "non-techie" and G's more techie but it may not be true.
"Incidentally, because of what Google is doing to me I am now receiving 99% of my traffic from the new Yahoo where I have top five placings for all my main KWs. What I am finding is that for some strange reason this traffic , although of reduced volume, appears to be more highly targeted and I am doing really well without Google. (I am a consultant in an industrial/technical field.) Is it possible that my kind of visitors, who are also technical people, are not using Google as much as they did in the past? It could be that because of its popularity some serious surfers now see Google as being too "mass market" or too "common". I am in the UK but I spoke on the phone to an associate in the USA yesterday and when I mentioned this he said that he was seeing exactly the same thing. Anyone else seeing this?"
I see everyone posting changes in their results and yet in the real estate field Yahoo is still displaying Google results.
Am I missing something? From our logs it looks like Yahoo switched over from Google on Feb 18th through Feb 20th but now is back to using the Google results.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
