Spaces in SERP URL's

New and/or significant?

Call me sad and/or behind the times, but I've recently started noticing that the url's displayed for a website often have a space after one of the "/".

EG:
[google.com...] press/query.html

Is this new? Does it hold any significance? Or are the algo's not properly re-building URL's after parsing?

yep, both. ;-)

you made me feel better though - I noticed this on some of my pages a few months back but managed to resist the very strong urge to post about it!

Looks like its just G optimising for different screen resolutions. The spaces act as line breaks when the screen res can't take the width of the url's.

[edit]bah I should read previous posts before replying to the original one :P[/edit]
