Dissatisfied with your search results? Help us improve.

Found that at the bottom of a search query. Opens up a box for "users" to submit feedback.

It's been there for ages. What's new?

I have submitted a site 3 times, using that box, that has been showing a page that says "this site is temporarily unavailable" for 8 months now and the site is still there.

This site keeps showing up in the top 5 for the main search term for our area. Even the description shows the "unavailable" line.

Conclusion: this information is not looked at!

I have seen a case where a particular site vanishes from the SERPs and people write to me to ask where they can find it. It is a page about a topic which can mean either a general information topic ar a highly lucrative commercial topic.

It has been number one for that query since late 1998 but every now and then it goes away completely.

When people call or write about it, I first ask them why they don't just bookmark it and then tell them to use the "Dissatisfied with your search results?" link and ask "what is all this commercial c#&P? I am looking for <this>."

Within a day or two, the site returns and the phone calls and e-mails stop.

I have always thought that it as a particularly useful but dangerous feedback tool.
