Hiding elements, any effect?

Hi,

Due to design reasons I have added a small piece of javascript (10 lines max) to my pages. The script has a link that hides and shows elements of the pages. On my home page I have the element open with a link to hide it. On all other pages I have it hidden by default with a link to show it. Within the element are external links. Does anyone see any reason for this being penalised by google?

I doubt if this will be penalised by Google. Many people create menu systems hiding and showing links using javascript. Depending on how you have made this, the link may not transfer PageRank, or even not be followed by Googlebot.
