SERPs in IE6 vs. SERPS in Mozilla

Different strokes for different folks?

In another thread I read that a member was seeing the "New Google" in Mozilla and the regular Google in IE6. As I have not yet seen the "new" Google design I fired up Mozilla to see if that would work for me...

It didn't. But what I DID see was different SERPs for the same keywords in Mozilla than what I'm seeing in IE6. It certainly makes me wonder if the search results I am checking are actually the same as what other people see!

I know about the various datasets in rotation, which I have also observed... but here I'm talking about two browsers being refreshed within a second of each other... and results for each are different.

Why?

For 2 days now my site has been bouncing back and forth from page 1 to page 10 of the SERPS for one keyphrase and similar results for others. I've been on page one for about the past year - so this is definitely disturbing - espeically since I managed to survive the Florida update.

I'm beginning to wonder if Google has found a way to "share the wealth" with similar commercial sites by trading spaces every few hours. LOL. Right now I'm on page 10 - sure hope it moves back to page 1 again. I check using IE, Netscape and Safari and the results are all the same and also the Google is the same.
