I've noticed using mozilla i get the new google with white text ads and slightly different looking format. With IE i get the same ol' same ol.

Funny thing is, that when using mozilla it looks more windows/msn'ish and when using IE it looks the old way.

Are they just testing the new interface on mozilla or is this something they chose as a direction to possible use more of the features like XUL or any of the mozilla api's and interfaces to expand the feature set on that browser?

It seems that whether you get the old or the new interface depends on a cookie setting. I get the old version on Win 2000 and the new on XP (same machine - I use dual booting).

If you want the new interface, locate the cookie and delete it. When the new one is created, I think it chooses the new or the old interface by some random means but I haven't bothered to look closely at this.

If the method I've suggested works, let us know.

well, last night when i caught this i was running mozilla on linux and that was new and ie on my xp laptop and that was the old one.

I've installed mozilla on my xp laptop and i get the old one haha..

however, no matter what i do, i'm getting the new looking google on mozilla in suse linux all the time on my desktop.

Going to try messing around on the laptop or copying over the cookies from mozilla-unix to mozilla-xp and see if that works.

The presence of the toolbar may be a factor in IE.
