Rankings Switch From #1 to #270

About 10 days ago my site which was the #1 site for real estate in my area went to #270. About 99% of the local web sites did the same. Statewide national sites are on the top. Do you think its going to stay like this?

Personally i dont think the serps will stay like they are. I have have no proof to back my opinion up but for my business its nothing but ebay listings, directories listings and how to listings there is No e commerce in the top 40 listings in the serps. If I want to search for blue widgets i get alot of crap!
Oh yeah by the way im in Georgia.

Don't forget the search results pages. Lately I've seen search results pages from other sites ranking very well in the SERPS - how silly is that!

I am still seeing radical results for my money phrases. #15 one day #5 the next. #30 after that, everyday something different. Googlebot is also crawling 1 to 2 times per day. This doesn't sound like settling down for me :-O

None of the web sites that were on the first page of the search results for the search term my web site focuses on a 2 weeks ago are in the top 100 results now. What comes up is super center websites that the person searching has to weed through junk to get to a final site that is of less quality.

One of my site just completely dissapered from the serps only a week ago. I don't really understand whats going on. i was no.7 now i an nowhere for every listing i had www.mysite.com has dissapered. the site is still in google

Hi,

I have a fairly new site, launched in October. I read lots on here before putting it up. I parsed the whole site and have over 250 pages indexed. Each parse has the KW for that page in the link as does the title and the header. For most searches under the KW on detail pages I rank on top 10.

However, my homepage which I have all links coming to with anchor text as my KW, I have KW in my title and in my header and in the body of my text (but only once in the body). I used to be at #5 for that KW but recently I have disappeared completely. Could it be because I am not having enough KW density or because I have part of the KW in my domain? It is hard to take the KW out of domain as it is the name of a Country.

I have one of my KWs in my domain with no ill effect. And instead of KW density being too low, maybe it is too high. I had to bump mine down to below 4% before my index page returned.

Just a thought, but it worked for me :-} (knock on wood)

I no expert. One change I have noticed the more competitive terms, "our city + my profession", terms, I ranked in the top for over a year. Directory sites and some local ISP's now have that position. On one of my sites I have more inbound links than some of the sites that took my place. I don't know whats going on.
