Ive been reading through the recent threads on new google algorithms etc, but ive also noticed it seems to have dropped a lot of content.
Over the past months google used to use a lot of bandwidth, almost permanently crawling through my community based site
Upon searching for site:www.widgets.com I would previously get 20,000+ results back, pretty much a mirror of a lot of posts on the boards
Now this is less than 200
Ive noticed a HUGE drop in referred traffic from google
Before christmas it was over 2000 unique referred per day from various google.com .de etc I am now getting about 300, so losing over 1500 sessions a day :(
Whats wierd my front page has PR of 7 still and the main forums have PR 6, it just seemed they have dropped a hueg amount of archived content which is where we got a large amount of traffic from
Is this consistent with other users? Im still #1 for widgets and have kept the PR, but without the archive stuff im at a big loss :(
Your www.widgets.com website seems to me very strange. First of all I noticed some kind of redirect towards [landing.domainsponsor.com...] , then an annoying pop-up appear, which Google definitely doesn't like it. And the user also!
Did you or someone else designed your website?
