Css logo, same text different colors, one very close to the background

Will google give a "hidden" text penalty?

I am developing a new site that has no images. In order to get a nifty looking logo, I am using CSS to absolutily position over laying colors to give the logo text some depth.

The primary color is green. then two other colors, laid beneath the green, are very close to the background color. This is not to hide any test, but rather give some depth to the logo.

How picky is google about things like this. Will google know that the same text is just laid over each other? Should I not do this? I have a feeling that this is border line... Comments?

Chances are if you're asking this question you shouldn't do it.

However, whether or not Google actually parses CSS files is still up in the air. I have had no ill affects by blocking spider access to the directory my CSS file is in via robots.txt.

This is a very simple question with no clear cut answer but the debate should be interesting.
