I am not here to throw some stones at the Florida or Austin updates as my sites haven't move dramatically up or down.
What I'd like to have is your opinion as a Google user.
Last month I did some research on a subject and find some interesting articles - read the articles and moved on. During the same period I look at some problem caused by my server and then again find the answers and moved on.
Today I was going through the same process using the same keywords (exactly the same ones as I used the Google toolbar and it keeps the search you perform in its drop down menu) and I couldn't find one of the 5-6 sites I used to solve my original server problems and read the articles from.
Ok you are going to tell me - if you were better at server admin your wouldn't need Google, or even if you had used your page bookmark tool this wouldn't have happened.
I agree.
But what about the user who finds a good site that he was going to buy a product from or read an article from 2 days before the updates and when he had time to go back to look at it (during the WE after these updates) they're nowhere to be seen?
Won't he/she curse G for not giving him back the results that satisfied him, the ones he expects. Won't he go through the first 20 results to see if they have just drop by some places (eventhough he knows they were no further than the fifth result) and then really get hangry because he could have fixed his problem in a couple of seconds and now he's got to try some other keywords combination. Won't he finally give up and move to another SE to try and find them?. It's what I did (all of it ;)) and it worked, I found the articles, it solved my problem and I will use the other SE again!
What do you guys think?
Do you think that Google will loose users because of the constant SERP shuffle? or do you think that normal users wouldn't notice this shuffling?
