Googlebot visiting every day

Googlebot visited my new site the first time 7 days ago. It crawled robots.txt and my homepage.
Since than it is doing it every day the same way, and approximately at the same time.
Is this normal? Can somebody explain please?

It's somehow normal if you have very good backlinks. The only thing that worries me a bit is that no subpages are spidered. But I think if you wait 2 more weeks it should become better. If not, you might want to post again.

I've had Googlebot visit my site for a month without going past the robots.txt and index.htm files.

Eventually it went deeper when I added more backlinks.

Just keep getting links pointing to your site. Especially at least one deep link from a PR4 site.

It is normal to get crawled every day. If Gbot isn't getting to additional pages, take a look at your links. Are they plain html links? Are they absolute or relative URLs? How big is your page? Where on the page do the links appear? How many links are on your page? Do you have outgoing links?

18kb html and 9kb graphics.

8 at the top of the page, 18 at the left side, 3 in the middle of the page, and 2 on the bottom. There are also 6 links to external websites in the middle area.

Today googlebot visited our page 2 times already at it is not 6pm yet. It usually visits around 7 pm. It didn't pass the home page. Also I didn't mention that our site was password protected for around a year while it was in the development phase. It was also moved to the different server before the launch.
All our backlinks are poiting to the home page.
