I'm seeing a new look for google when I search at www.google.com, but when I use 216.239.37.99, I get the old design. They've cleaned it up a bit, gotten rid of the "tab" look (now just links across the top) and "Sponsored Links" have a white background rather than the little colored boxes. The think that really got me, though, is that the search terms are now highlighted in the URLs on the SERP.
Anybody else seeing this?

Basically, the design is now uniform with Google News. Google Groups are updated as well.
Maybe a trial balloon? I think it looks pretty nice.
Looks good, very clean
I don't think its sampling me, just fresh design
>> even highlight a substring within a URLIncluding domain names? Domain names without -'s which have substrings?
Well, if you searched on "exam", you'd see, among the results, in the URL after the snippet,
http:// www.example.com/page.html
Now I can't do any more tests, because I flushed my cache and cookies this morning, and only then realized what I had done!
If this is the new design I think that it would make sense of the strange change in search results from Google Florida . Perhaps it was just Google was steming. On the site I getting google seems to be showing highlights for varations of words.
I have published a page on my site if you want to take a look
www.digipro.co.uk/google.html
i seem to be one of the ips that "sees" the new google layout; first they take down the tabs so they can stuff in-there more portal-type features; smooth ipo move
then the significant difference is in highlighting the search terms in the results. This happens once in the green domain link, which visually favours keyword TLDs that might explode, and in the actual green url; so rewrite rules will get smarter.
The same thing happens now in the adwords area, where in the adwords description the highlighting of the search term is more significant; the font is now same as in results and the light colours are gone. basically adwords looks now almost like the search results. increased click ratios hunt? yes but you get a separation line, so you get the balance;) the interest image is gone also; what was it anyway
also the Category link and Description in the search results seems to be gone, combined with the missing directory tab means that the directory collection slowly vanishes
so basically slight design changes. but wait shouldn't adwords descriptions get much more keyword related? shouldn't we purchase asap all possible keyword combination top level domains?
&also the jobs and services link is replaced with an about google link in the footer. "google" keyword optimisation?:)
