Just had my PR upgraded on 3 of my domains to PR 7 from 6. Will this mean a jump in traffic or is it more of a sliding scale?

PR still has an impact on SERPS but not to the same degree as it used too, I'm sure you'll see some benefit!

One thing you will see an increase in is the number of link Exchange requests

My experience is PR7+ makes a difference that's noticeable. Especially when it comes to stability.

I don't wish to dishearten you cpnmm, but from your description the PageRank could have just as easily jumped from 6.0 to 7.9 as it could have from 6.9 to 7.0; the Toolbar isn't a precise scale (though I'd say it's more accurate than most people think).

The affect of a PR increase on your ranking, say one Toolbar notch for argument's sake, is unlikely to be dramatic. However, more PageRank can help a large site to be deep-crawled (especially if it has dynamic-looking URLs), and if the extra PageRank is due to extra links from other sites then you may get a significant anchor text boost.

If you have a fairly large site with a lot of bottom level pages, each with little competition, then a PR boost into your site can help with those bottom level 'money pages [searchengineworld.com]'.

There are areas where I'd say yes, definetly. But in most areas it's almost useless these days. About 1,5 years ago you could rule almost every keyphrase with just 1 PR 9 link. But I'd say good content is a better solution for good rankings on a long term basis.
