spelling-corrected SERPs different than regular SERPs

My site is optimized for, let's say, widget history. I found that someone had reached my site from a Google search for widget histery -- misspelled.

So I tried a search. The misspelled SERPs had my site listed as #5, though I'm not yet on the first page for the correctly spelled results. And that misspelling is nowhere on my site.

I'm not complaining. It's just odd!

That's just Google stemming. if you do a search for australia you'll get results for australian too. etc. etc. So if you mispell you'll get a whole different query

i used to do well with a mispelling i targetted..now the real site is number one..it seems that google knows that by association the actual search is for corrected spelling.....more clever clever stuff from google....

Hmm my targeted misspelling page is gone for one of my sites but another page of that site has taken it's place. Weird

Another interesting thing I have noticed is if the keyword you target is both a one word and a two word term i.e. Kakle Berry or Kakleberry when you put search for Kakle-Berry G highlights both terms.
I wonder if the reverse would also be true?
