Are sites like Switchboard.com good for Google?

Results do not seem to relate to the search

It seems to me that sites like:
superpages.com
switchboard.com
yellowpages.com
are making a Joke of Googles results. These sites seem to be dominating the SERPS for just about anything if you add a city/state to your search, then when you visit their page they dish up results that seem to exclude what it is was we were originally searching for.

Yeah, anything that hurts results isn't good for an SE.

G might argue that the results are relevant because the sites list names, addresses and phone numbers for "widget places in new york" but I don't buy that. Since I'm doing an internet search I expect to find internet links for "widget places in new york".

So, yeah, I consider results from these directories useless for my needs.
