I am not great at HTML and have been making some pages for our site using one page as a template. I realized after a few months that I was not changing the description and keywords the code goes to fetch. So I had several pages with the same keywords and description.
Do you think this hurt placement at all?

don;t think keywords have any effect at all, but descriptions do i my opinion. They certainly are used by google in the rankings to describe the page so are definately being used by google, more so if the page is graphic heavy and has little text. Whats your proof that description doesn't Brett?
and regardless of if it does or not effect ranking, the description definately matters to what the user sees of the page in the serps. Certainly looks better.
