This morning, I noticed a refer from Google, and checked the SERP that sent the visitor there.. Much to my surprise I find my site has suddenly risen to No. 7, but I'm listed *only* in the SERP for "factory specific widget".
The surprise here is that nowhere on the site is the term singular, and there are no variations of "factory specific widget" for Gbot to have found and Google to have used for this SERP.
Even stranger; the site is still under construction, and chock full of 404's.I n fact log files show me more GET calls from Gbot are resulting in 404's than 200's...
And this isn't restricted to Google - ATW and MSN did the same thing; stemmed from plurals to a singular version that appears nowhere, in any form.
Is this a new "reverse stemming" implementation for Google?
