2 questions about strange indexing and cache

1.As of last night, google came by a new site I've put up and was gobbling pages like crazy(good). As of today none of those pages are showing up in the cache, the pages are not showing updated titles in the SERP's, any idea what that's all about? I tried checking different data centers but It seemed the same (probably need to hack the toolbar to show cache from dif. data centers, so didn't bother to check caches) as far as the SERPs across all of them.

Is that normal for their to be a lag like that?

2.Another new site (I have 10 that are 1 page each, and way too similar but just temp for 4 days until the whole sites get thrown up) was indexed but when I check cache it shows the cache for another of the 10.

Is this google's way of saying that the sites were too similar? The other 10 are fine except 2 that were indexed and now aren't. These sites(pages) went live about 10 days ago.

Any help, always appreciated!~

too much information

I recently had a redesigned site that was not indexed until it had been deep crawled twice. It took 4 weeks to show in the index after the first deep crawl. There really is no 'standard' time until a page shows up in the index after being crawled.

The cache problem is nothing to worry about. Google runs several servers and the cache could be showing from a server that has not received an updated version or maybe it has the updated version but the index you are looking at is old.

There are so many combinations of results in each visit to Google that you are bound to see strange things now and again.

My habits now are to watch my logs rather than Google's index. It's safer for my ego, and it's a much better indication of how well your site is doing.
