New Google Layout

Seeing a new layout. No background coloring in adwords, top header and footer in blue vignette.
Froogle at top was missing for a period, now its back.

I am not seeing that, and I have not seen a link to Froogle for a while now.

normal for me from the UK - have you run ad-aware / spybot - just to check you haven't had google hijacked

Google has been testing a new layout, a snapshot was taken sometime ago somewhere in WW.

GG also mentioned that they were tying out ADS with no colour backgrounds.

Nothing to get to excited about I don't think (at the moment!).

Someone put a link up before. The searches looked like a more 'Windows XP' style.

I'm in Spain and haven't seen any change in G's layout.

Quite a few people have see a 'new Google' for a brief period, but different from each other.

As far as I can gather, they tend to have in common a less cluttered top-of-page, as well as the white background for AdWords (but still with a clear separation from the search listings).

Yes, I seem to be stuck with new (test) Google on .com but old on .co.uk :)

Other differences to add to what Ciml mentioned:-

Dmoz Category Links not showing on Web Search Page.

Although the Adwords are bigger (width ways) - Only the title is a link, like the serps, as opposed to the whole box.

I have done a number of searhes and have not found one premium (top adword) result at the top of the search results yet.

A sign of things to come or just a test - who knows.

Actually, I understand that we will be seeing some major changes within Adwords. The change is fundamental.

I assume that the layout modifications are in anticipation of this new direction.

Thanks Sidayav - I think the new look of Google is very nice with less clutter outlook. It seems to further enhance a feel of Google being only a search engine.

New look to better feed adwords all the clicks that used to go to the Mom and Pops Pre Florida.
Don't tell me people can't see that? Listings are still horrible. Highest money words highly targeted by filter. I been looking at the adult terms and they seem to be affected I think most, all the way up to like 4+ word phrases on many of em. Lots of stuff shows up that is not even close to adult for a great many searches. I have a feeling we are next with everything else, besides information sites, as they go more in this direction.
Oh well, it's their engine at least they are doing it gradually, better than just announcing a fee just to be in it period.

WELL yes i did see a new layout for the SERPs ... almost no colors even for text ads.

I was actually a client's place explaing them about search engine marketing and i suddenly see this new kind of layout.

Not sure, if they approve that? any enw from GG about it here.

I think it's random. If you delete your cookies then the new formatting will go away. I think I like the old layout better.
