8008 port redirect

can this trigger any penalty?

A home page of one of my sites is redirected server side to 8008 port which comes as feature of hosting. Recently as this feature was installed, all my pages disappeared from google base.
Can it possibly trigger cloaking penalty?

There should be no problem with hosting your content on port 8008. Whether the redirect is followed depends on the type of redirect (301 is more likely to be followed than 302) and how much PageRank the links have.

Did you mean 8008 or the more usual 8080?

Thanks for replying all of you
this was a permanent redirect and now the site is back to normal url.

However I have another issue now.
I have recently added some SSI elements to pages replacing old htm by shtml.
I am new to .htacess and inquiring how you write a redirect rule for all htm quiries to my site (like from google).
Also is there any way to transfer some PR from htm to shtml pages now?
