Time it takes for changes to appear

For the last 8 months or so, making changes to a website resulted in rank changes after 2-3 days (if googlebot visits your site regularly).

But how about backlink changes? I run about 6 sites and sponsor many others and I now have to tweak the backlinks on all of them. Is the anchor text with a backlink also ranked and configured dynamically now (like changing text on a website) or do we have to wait for the monthly update just the calculation of the backlinks?

I have noticed that sites are taking longer to update lately. Backlinks seem to update once a month.

Yes, a lot of things take over a month to show up.

In fact, some things that the old Google would have noticed long ago, still seem to have been missed over 6 months later.
