We know, just the repetitive usage of keywords in content to achieve a good KD doesn't work as well as pre-Florida. We need to write content targeted at a keyword, yet not make the content look obvious for fear of OOP (if that thing still exists).
Now we may try and use associated terms related to the main keyword we intend to rank high. "City+Hotel" can have "City+Accommodation", "City+Lodging", and many other related terms which need not even include the search terms. Now question is which associated terms Google considers as "Associated" in its algorithm. We may look to its "Google AdWords Keyword Suggestions" and type in the main keyword and see what Google gives as associated/relevant. Include quite a good no. of them in the content page to make the page COMPLETE in Google's eyes.
I noticed a few sites that ranked well for a competitive phrase, inspite being low on PR and low on KD. But they have a good no. of associated terms as given by Google keyword tool. I haven't tried it out yet and wanted to see if someone has already given a try.
