Hi,

I've just noticed a change. Since 19th ish November allinanchor:search term brought up broadly pre Florida results.

Now for the phrases I'm tracking the results look very similar to current simple search.

James Dale defined allinanchor this way
allinanchor: Takes the normal results, and strips out those that don't contain the keyphrase in the anchor text.

The definition on Google's API page has now gone.

Just tried this - allinanchor site:www.google.com, and apart from a serp, nothing came up.

I get you. It is odd that 'allinanchor site:www.google.com' turns up 1 link to a Google condensed SERP for 'allinanchor:"Search Engine Optimization"'.

No 'allintext' mentioned either but it still works too. Was it mentioned before the changes?

The Gigablast Cache [gigablast.com] of www.google.com/help/operators.html from Jul 25 2003 shows no allinanchor ...

That cache is interesting Yidaki, but I'd swear I saw mention of it on G more recently.

I'm pretty sure i haven't seen it mentioned on the "operators" page, ever. The way to make that search goes through "Advanced Search":

Occurences Return results where my terms occur "in links to the page"

As claus says, you can find the prefixes here:

allintext:, allinanchor: and allintitle: avoided the recent filters until a few days ago.

Google fixed the hole, as with "keyword1-keyword2", "keyword -showmethespam", "keyword -filetype:[ whatever ]" and "&hl=[ something other than en ]" appended to the results URL. They've covered the whole list now, as far as I know anyway.
