Anyone's new sites getting picked up AND traffic high but users low?

Hey all... of course there's plenty going on out there with Google but I wanted to know if anyone is having luck getting new sites picked up? We've been doing this a long time... successfully... and see the occasional blip (e.g. ESM) in getting new sites spidered... now we're seeing only home pages getting in? How about you?

Also, and rather odd and disturbing, we didn't get hit too bad (actually at all) by all this... and all of our traffic still rocks... but user interaction (e.g. purchases, emails, contacts, followups, etc.) has dropped dramatically... what's that all about?

Are your users finding your site under the same keywords they always did, or have you got a whole new set of visitors looking for something different? (which is what I'm currently seeing with my site)

No, that's the funny thing... our positioning across the board is just as good as it was...

We had one odd, like 4-day period where one site leaped to the top of the serps for all four top, two-phrase keywords (that was nice) but they weren't there before anyway... we've always focused on 3's and 4's... and it's been good for us... so it's the same set of key words, searches, etc... BUT, the contact level has gone way down?!?!?!

I don,t think its the time of the year. We also key on three and four word searches which is necessary, two words are way too general, and have been experiencing the same phenomenon with bookings and contacts.
This is just about the time to open the flood gates on business for the tourist season and it doesn't seem to be happening quite right. Serps and searches are the same or better than always but conversion seems to be the problem for whatever reason.
