I don't have a problem with all the non-profit pages having the same URL but when a visitor leaves the site by clicking on a link, the non-profit URL sticks in the browser address box.
It changes if the visitor leaves by typing a URL or clicks a book mark.
Godaddy says this is normal behavior. Seems like a bug to me. My concern is that visitors will get annoyed when the address sticks no matter where they go. Should I look into other masking alternatives?

Sounds like a browser bug to me. Check other browsers.

YES. Because Google sees all the content as the same URL. At most the home page would get indexed.

Domain masking looks like a neat option on first glance however I would stay away from it. Frames=not good, from SEO and usability point of view.
If you have a unique IP with your hosting, you can use Godaddy's total DNS control to point your domain name to your site.

to all your external links.

I think you mean it's treated the same way as frames? (No frames on this page.) In any case, your suggestion to add "target=_top" works and unlocks the browser address. Thanks.
I wasn't sure if google read the true URL or the substituted one. If Google sees the entire site as a number of frames, I could tag ea. secondary page as "No Index" in hopes that the the front page will be correctly indexed.

This .org builds houses for the poor in a poor part of the state and web hosting costs are measured in 2x4's. The cheap hosting companies won't support ASP and databases which we need. I also was going to try this on a number of new sites to keep my own costs down. Already pay for six accounts. Gotta weigh the costs of being cheap, I guess.

Thanks for you generous offer. If I give up my own websites, I'll certainly get in touch. I don't mind keeping it on my own site for now and working around the really very minor issue of the masking.
You did guess the organization. It's the local chapter in the Adirondack Mpuntains in NY. I do their website, database work and CAD drawings. It's really not a big contribution though compared to the hands-on construction work the other volunteers do.
