Funny. Google is going on NBC the same day the Overture/NBC deal was announced. Maybe Sergie can chew dick johnson out for making the deal with Overture and not adwords ;)

They did not mention the Grateful Dead Chef, but they referred to us as:

"A cottage industry has developed to help 'mom and pop' businesses beat out 'big' retailers"

They also gave advice to scroll down to avoid the the results that we get placed high.

There was also a clip of Danny Sulivan in the story.

Here are the exact quotes:

On a practical level, Johson had some advice for users to get the most out of their Google searches:

Use specific keywords that are unique to what you are looking for.

Scroll through the first dozen or so search results because Google ranks what it finds by relevance and popularity.

"There is even a cottage industry of paid consultants hired to coach, say, a mom-and-pop store on how to beat out a big retailer and get ranked at the top of the search results," Johnson said.

Funny quote. To think big retailers aren't employing SEOs as well. We'll work for whoever pays top dollar won't we?

I left my "cottage" three years ago - the business lease is due for renewal next year.
