I have 5 weeks of data that has not been updated by Google and now searching on www.mydomain.com reveals nothing.

Is this par for the course now with Google for post April sites?

From what I see, if anything, sites are now updated more often (often many times in a month). I have a few sites that I set up a couple of months ago and they are spidered regularly. I make changes on them often and their position in the SERPs, the title, and description also change often.
So if your sites aren't getting updated, there's probably something wrong on your end. Are you getting spidered at all?

One of my sites (PR5 home page) is updated in the listings about every three months - nothing gets updated except the whole site in one go. Last updated 27th August.

Another of my sites has a PR4 page that is updated daily, and the rest is updated about once every two months.

I don't think one can make a general rule about "many times a month" - two of my sites are counterexamples <smile>

Thanks for those replies.

I have 5 sites in total. The other four are spidered about every 2 days and indexed accordingly. Three are PR4 and one PR5.

The current one is PR4 and has quite a few links from PR6 or 7 sites.

I just do not understand what is going on. This site was launched late March. This is the only difference betweeen the other 4 sites.

I'm hesitant about suggesting that March is the problem <grin>

Just checked this morning and now searching on www.mydomain.com does find my site again.

Index page now reveals updated on 4 Nov, but no other pages updated.

If you were to do a Google search on - <widget> to rent in <some place> - we will be found at number 4. Compare the cached page with the real page and you will see the extent of the problem. The title tag for each page is shown, plus the advertisers name and date it was placed

Many thanks for the above edit. It sure make is easy for readers to understand.

Well, now I can report we are back to square one. Searching on www.mydomain.com does not find ANY site. What the hell is going on?

Now it has changed again.

Searching on www.mydomain.com finds my site.

Also, indexing is up to date as far as 1 November. Nothing after this date.

So, I probably wait another month now before my site is indexed again. Its like pre April when we all waited for the dance, except that now most sites are updated almost daily.

Frustrating when you don't know the reason why?
