Keyword Density

Will lowering my density for main term from 24% to under 20% help?

Right now I rank, depending on the day, between number 11 and number 13 for my main keyword. I just ran a density check and my main keywork (single word) has a density of 24%. If I lower this down to under 20% do you think it will improve my ranking. The pages above me have a much lower density for this term than I do.

I have read many posts here to keep the density under 20% so that is why I ask this question. My gut says to give it a try, but I just thought I would see what you all thought before I started tweaking.

Bingo. Well, almost.

Include your keyword in your copy as many times as you can while maintaining the readability for your users. Then... forget about it. Kinda like submitting your sites to directories really.

As for keyword percentage on a page, nah, haven't got time for that. There IS more important factors to worry about. :)
