Google not reading No Frames?

I have a site that is framed (I know, I know). Despite several attempts to make the site more crawler friendly, Google does not appear to be reading and following the no frames content. I created special framesets to eliminate the possible issue of dynamic links being the problem, but still no joy.

The <noframes> tag is included after the first frame src, i.e.
<frameset cols="*,750,*" frameborder="no" border="0" framespacing="0" onunload="return popup()">
<frame src="blank.asp" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="no" noresize>
<no frames>content</no frames>
etc.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Google can crawl most framesets these days. So I woudn't worry about the noframes stuff.

What you will have to worry about is your pages appearing outside their frame if clicked upon from a search engine result page.

You can use javascript to re-establish the frameset tho.

I would keep the noframes stuff. Just because google doesn't use does not mean you should drop it. Same with meta tags and many other things. What about:

Inktomi, Microsofts new spider, FAST/Lycos, AltaVista, Teoma

They may not be the biggest - but even if they only send you 5%-10% of your traffic, why cut them off?

Sorry, I was unclear, I meant don't worry about Google not reading the noframes stuff :)

Google does read <noframes> content

I just had a page indexed on Oct 19th, appeared in the SERPS Oct 21st, now getting plenty of quality traffic and I dont even use a frameset, just a few JPEGs.

However, I put the <noframes> content just beneath the <head> tag.

My rule of thumb: always make a non-framed clone of your pages html for noframes tag. It helps, alot.

I can confirm that Google reads <noframe> content.
