Hello everyone and thank you for the opportunity of learning from you guys.

Does anyone know why google shows different results according to the browser used.

for example for my main search phrase: keyword keyword

Google shows 7,550,000 results in explorer whereas in opera it shows 5,760,000.

In fact it is constantly different. Explorer will jump to more than 15 million pages and back to 12 and then to less than 10 million etc... whereas opera shows changes of a less substantial nature.

Even ranking is different. My main web site shows as 27 in explorer and 13 in opera.

Anyone with an explanation?

Thank you so much
Talk to you later

Because google.com is not a datacenter itself.

google has around 10 datacenters that produce slighly different results each and a search on google.com will be redirected to one of the datacenters.

Let's assume that Google is detecting the browser and returning different results. In order to test this theory, change the option in Opera so that it identifies itself as MSIE 6. Now refresh and see if the results concur with results returned in IE. (To be certain, restart Opera.)
