Looks like a case of premature egooglation to me. All the signs of one of those U-thingies I look for are not present now. SERPs in fact look incredibly and unusually stable.

I had a new one a few weeks back into the SERPs really quickly. Then dropped a few days later, and back in again. In position 1 & 2 for a four word targetted phrase (includes "New Zealand"),

In terms of what's important for webmasters, up****s are pretty continuous now. In other words, I seem to have a Google up**** within about three days of me putting a site up.

olwen's experience is very common. We can expect things to be a little choppy at first, but that's better than having nothing in IMO.

Marcia, both sites have white bar PR0. One went live Sept 8 and the other went live Sept 27. Both received a couple immediate inbound links for Googlebot to follow, but they were low PR sites.

I breathed the "U" word becuase these sites suddenly started drawing traffic, although at low volumes one would expect with low PR. Maybe it isn't an "u" in any of the old ways but it did happen pretty much in a batch so does appear to be an "u" in some sort of fashion.

I guess it could have been random coincidence that both sites began drawing traffic at about the same time, despite going live two weeks apart, and that there is no "batching up" going on here.
