Only two pages listed after URL description change

When will I see them back?

After altering my URL descriptions, I only have two pages left listed. On the surviving pages, sometimes Google shows my old descriptions and sometimes my new ones.

When is Googles next deep crawl, as I guess that is what I'm waiting for? What's happening here? I'm worried as I've lost vital page positions and losing hits.

I am being deep crawled right now, but that does not really prove anything about when _you_ can expect to be.

URL descriptions? Do you mean these tags:
<meta name="description" content=".....">

AFAIK Google do not care much about them. I cannot imagine that changes here are responsible for your problems. Not even if you have filled your descriptions with spam, but you haven't, have you?

Sounds like results being shown from different Google datacenters with two different generations of these pages.

Do you have any logfiles? Did you have trouble with your server last time that Google tried to deep crawl your website? Has your website been visited by any googlebot lately?
