From reading posts on this forum and on the Internet the general consensus is at the moment quantity links is winning on Google.

I have a site that is PR 5/10, I am now on 2nd page on Google. Some people say FFA does not enhance PR which is fine, some people say FFA go against you.

Now if anchor text and keywords in your title/backlink is the flavour of the day, would using submission software to get your link backs with the right text be a good thing if you use software to submit to a load of sites automatically?

Even if it does not increase page rank surely it would increase your linkback text ratios? Do we get shafted for using automated systems regardless?

Heres some more reading on artificial link set-ups.
A while ago some webmasters came back from a cold shower. Googleguy did some explaining.

I'm afraid there are very few worthwhile sites/directories that allow automatic submission with the exact anchortext. If there were, they would be blasted with submissions from all the competitive sectors.

In general - manual is the way to go.
