Hi,

As a webdesigner, I have made approx. 25 sites now. On every site I created, I put a text link to my own site on every page. Most of these sites have a PR between 1 and 4 by now. My site has a PR of 3.

But when I check the Google toolbar for my backward links, I get nothing. Even some of my clients's websites, with lesser PR, have backward links showing.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Greetz,
Alex.

It might help if you provide us with a little more details like:

Since when is your page up?
Did it have PR in the past?
Did you play around with robots.txt?

Hi poemelke,

Welcome to Webmaster World.

Google will only list backlinks that have a PR4 or higher. You may want to check backlinks on alltheweb.com with link.all:yourdomain.tld

Hi poemelke, and welcome to webmasterworld.

It seems that over the last few months there have been several things going wrong with Google's linkback. At times no linkbacks show. At times it's only the PR4s. So don't take that as the ultimate in reliability.

Alltheweb seems OK-ish now but it has it's own quirks and a few weeks ago it's was showing screwed up results. Even now it's not 100%.
