I received extremely quick and friendly help from Google with removing 4 URLs from their database today.

I had changed SSL servers and the old URLs were in the SERPS. My scripts pointed to the new addresses - hence the old pages looked OK, but didn't work so I feared loss of sales.

Google's 'remove URL' utility does not support HTTPS so I emailed them. Within hours they replied, saying they would manually remove the old pages and instructed me to add the pages to robots.txt to guard against future inclusion.

You won't see this caliber of support from any other SE!

I've had similar good experiences; I guess it's very much in their interests, clean index wise, to ensure there is enough manpower to take quick care of such requests. It's nice to see nevertheless.
