Google adds a space in the URL

I'm way green so please help me out on this one. When I run a search to get stats on www.widgets.com, on any of the google datacenters, I get the usual four result options. But when I click on "contains the term" Google adds a space in the URL so I get 0 results. But when I manually delete the space. This was noted by multiple users coming from multiple DNS addresses. This happens on both PC and Mac and occurs on all the data centers.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Oaktown!

This is what I'm noticing too. A query for www.widgets.com in GG and go to 'Contain the Term' it shows:" www.widgets .com" notice a space between the widgets and the .com but though it does that, it shows you results.

Anyone know more about this? Have I not read a discussion about this?

The spaces serve two purposes:
1) so long urls can wrap in the display.
2) it slows down screen raiding.

Thanks to everyone for the pointers. I can't believe this is something google intends to happen. When I click on "contains the term", I don't get any results untill I delete the space. I'd sure like to hear GG's comments on this one.
