Extra space in link

I've been experiencing this for the past few hours.

Go to Google (any varient) and type in an URL with a double barreled ending as your search; for example www.widgets.co.uk or www.widgets.org.uk but NOT with a single barrelled ending such as www.widgets.com

As usual the page is displayed asking you if you want to check links to the site, see the cache etc comes up. Now click on the link to check for pages containing the term of your search URL and and you'll find that Google then falls flat on its face by displaying the result

Your search - " www.widgets.c o.uk" - did not match any documents.

Note the space's in the wrong places which completely messes things up.

Anybody else seeing this?

Worked for me so far on all sites that have a double worded ending.

Problem happens for me. I think GoogleGuy should send chrisholgate a google pen and t-shirt for finding a bug!

- searched for google.co.uk
- clicked on 'Find web pages that contain the term "google.co.uk"'
- Google interpreted as "google.c o.uk" with space.

I just noticed this happening to me about an hour ago. Guess I'm too late for the t-shirt ;)

From Google's home page I am seeing this bug. From the toolbar it sends me straight to google.co.uk. I guess I should just be thankful it doesn't send me to verisign.;)

You have to wonder about quality control at the GooglePlex these days. Looks like a very, very silly programming error.

Try www.google.info

If I go to www.google.nl and type in

www.google.info

and then click on

# Zoek webpagina's met het woord "www.google.info"

then there is a space between the "." and the "info"

Thanks

Had an e-mail from Google yesterday after reporting the bug a while ago.

Quick work by their engineers!

been to www.google.co.uk

typed www.google.co.uk

clicked on
Find web pages that (link to) www.google.co.uk

the search box changed to
link:oOkrp86zDV8J:www.google.co.uk/

if I delete oOkrp86zDV8J: and search again I get the same results

on google.com I see
link:zhool8dxBV4J:www.google.com/
