CTR of 1.7% good, ok, or poor?

I have a niche market online store. I created my first campaign with two groups in it.

The first group is very specific. It' gets low impressions but high CTR of 11.1% The second group is high impressions but has a low CTR of 0.9%

The combined CTR is 1.7%. Is this considered good? I haven't received any orders from the CTRs that I can tell but I did get someone to subscribe.

It's only been 4 days since I started it.

Will I get in trouble if the CTR on my one adgroup stays below 1%?

Thanks for any info

No one can really answer the initial question of "is this CTR good". It really depends on your industry.

I can say... The one with the .9% may get into trouble (shutdown) and chances are you need to target more. Take a wander through the threads from the past few weeks. There have been some terrific tips on how to improve your ads in adwords.

Good Luck!

OK, this is not based on any formal research, and is my gut-level feeling only: I would say that AdWords-wide the average CTR, per keyword, is 2.0 or slightly above.
