Hey, I was reviewing the early trip report from the WebmasterWorld pub conference. Sounds like a pretty good time was had by all! I just wanted to say thanks for being nice to the Google folks who were there at the table and talking to people. I think a lot of good discussion took place, and it's always helpful to hear what webmasters are thinking about what we should be doing. It's pretty wild that you kept a Google rep up till 4am in the hotel lobby talking! Matt wanted me to pass on his thanks to Shak, ciml, Jenstar, ScottM, ChrisR, lazerzubb, tedster, Felix, IanTurner, heini, ogletree, Brett (of course!), Hawkgirl, Rumbas, Alby, DaveN, 4eyes, Danny, and the dozens of other people that he got a chance to meet and talk to. I know he appreciated the chance to hang out with everyone, so thanks for being so nice to the Google folks.

It was great meeting Matt, and it was such a class act of Matt to go around the entire bar at the Thistle, being introduced to every single webmasterworld member in there. From what I heard, each person got their moment with Matt to get their Google question (or questions!) answered by Matt himself.

I must admit, the conversation with Matt, Shak, lazerzubb, ciml and myself was worth the price of my entire trip to London. Definitely one of the major highlights of the day ;)

It was a great showing by Google at PubCon. Cheers to them for putting up with the hundreds of questions they answered throughout the day. I know it was a highlight for many members - and the hats, notebooks, shirts and stickers were an added bonus :)

>such a class act

Seconded!

Its one thing sending a rep to a conference, but to walk into the after hours "lions den" and stay until the early hours is different class imho.

BTW - You can tell when you are getting old when you have to go to bed before the SE reps!

>>Matt wanted me to pass on his thanks to...

Well I wasn't at this one, but can you pass back to Matt my thanks for Boston? I didn't get a chance to thank him, and I really needed to hear what I heard. It's carried me through more than once since then. :)

Somehow I managed to miss this introduction but I've been filled in by some of the others :) Thanks for sharing.

GoogleGuy, it's been great and it'll be nice to see you officially in Orlando. (joke)

Please tell Matt that a load of people appreciated his willingness to meet as many people as possible.

Um,

Great effort Matt took!

It took me a while to find him, as he was in disguise or he could not find a London barber [webmasterworld.com] ;)

GG,

Pass on our thanks to Matt, and it was an honour to be allowed to introduce him to fellow webmasterworld members around the room 1-by-1.

The personal performance by lazerzubb for 2 hours was just out of this world, especially when Matt asked him how many pages he had in the index?

Laz replied "2 1/2" to which Matt said as a joke "billion" and Laz replies, "NO 2.5 million"

pure class...

Thanks, GG.

It was a treat to have him around well into the eveing.

I certainly appreciated getting the opportunity to visit with him, and I heard others felt the same way.

lazerzubb: Too late now, it's out in the open ;)

The think that struck me most about Matt was what a jovial kinda guy he was. Him being such a "celebrity" almost got in the way. Wonderful people all around, send my thanks to Matt, GG.
