domain dot com is the home page, which has about 6 links, one is the products index page.. products index page is at domain dot com/products
I then have my product categories on the product index page. for each category I go: domain dot com/products/categoryname
and for the product detail pages it is domain dot com/products/categoryname/detailpage.html
If I'm listed on DMOZ and a few other PR4-6 pages to my home page.. Approximately, how will it help my PR to the products index and product detail pages? Does the PR filter out from the main domain?
Would I be better off skipping the /products/catname and go domain dot com/catname I want some good PR on the product detail pages. The more directories might affect PR right?
TIA

No, PR reflects the link structure. Google rightly does not care where your files are on your disk, that is completely irrelevant.
Then why the myth that directory structure is related to PR? Because in a reasonably well organized site the directory structure will (should) reflect the logical link structure.
How you link internally depends very much on how you expect (or hope, or just plain guess :) ) that people will find what they want on your site. If they are looking for "widgets" in general, and your index page is well optimized for "widgets", you concentrate your PR there and hope that they will be able to navigate to the specific product page they wany.
If, on the other hand, you believe that they will be searching for "Model 321 Blue Fuzzy Widgets" then you optimize for your individual interior pages, and try to funnel as much PR as you can into them.
