My client has ZERO Backlinks in Google when there should be 200+ relevant links with PR 4. What is going on?

Please help. Has my client's site been penalized by Google?

AltaVisa shows my backlinks, but there are still ZERO backlinks for Google.

no surprises - Google is sporadic with backlink updates. Many links will not make it to the standard backlink count, and those that do might take several months to get there.

AS I observed reciprocated links are disapeared when google checks linkpopularity. Only non-reciprocated links remained.

You might like to try each of the data centers separately.

e.g. www-ex.google.com

The data centers are :-
ex, sj, va, dc, ab, in, zu, cw, fi, gv

If one or two show the backlinks, then they will probably all show them within two or three weeks.

Johny,

I haven't found that to be true for my site. I see reciprocated links when I use the "link:" command in google.

You also get different results when you use

link:www.yoursite.com instead of link:yoursite.com

are your serps the same, or are they affected? if not then you seem to be safe

Kaled,

How do I check my backlinks at the different data centers at www-ex.google.com?

SEOFreak,

My client has never been in the SERPS, and do not rank for any of their keywords. They are getting traffic using PPC and Google AdWords.

To check backlinks at each data center simply open the site www-ex.google.com (or whatever) then use the link command

e.g. link:www.domain.com

Unfortunately, Google's link command works per url (unlike ATW that can work per site). Therefore, you must use the link command with each page to which to are expecting linkbacks. There may be a better way of doing this, but I don't know of any.

Hope this helps,

Kaled.

Beth

At last google update my backlinks (searching them with link:www.domain.com) decreased from 800 to 300. But on other major searchengines I did not observed it.

What could be the reason for it:

1. Maybe my partners deleted my links from ther pages?
My answer on this: I did not check all the 800, but on other search engines the amount of backlinks did not decreased.

2. Maybe the PR algorithm changed a little bit and the linkpages PR decreased undrer PR4 so google did not count them?
My answer on this: I found backlinkpage with PR 3 also.

Do You know any other reason?
