hello all
i am buying a website with a PR of 5.
when i do a allinurl:+www.site.com+site:www.site.com it gives a value of 300 in google.
i wanted to make sure that the google bots visits this site often so that i can work on google ranking

do you think a site with a PR of 5+ will have a good chance of ranking well in google.
the owner isnt willing to give info on google ranking.

any help will be appreciated.

thanks

googlebot will come around wether you want it to or not. PR5 is generally good for pretty regular spidering.

It's not just about PR. In some industries PR5 will guarantee you a top 10 in others it will not.

That would set off the alarm bells for me. It would be like buying a car but the previous owner not allowing you to test drive it first. However, if there is actually a developed site there it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what keywords it's targetting and do the research your self. You should have your ranking answers in about 10 minutes.

PR5 is a good start.

Take a good look at the site how it is linked internally and take a good look at all the code.
Use Google, alltheweb and others to research the site. all the info you need is out in public view you just need to know how find it.

Check the domain in Archive to be sure they haven't used any shady tactics, hidden text or 1 x 1 gifs, in the past that you may inherit a Google penalty for.
