same site content text but diffirent languages

is this a duplication of content?

i have a site in english, but also want to publish the site on the same domain but in different folders each of which are different languages, however they are exactly the same text just translated, is this ok with google or bad

example

english version: www.abc.com

spanish version : www.abc.com/esp/ or esp.abc.com

I think a directory structure is better for search engine in general

A subdomain might create some spamming when similar pages are indexed from different servers.

Proxyhunter you should have no problems what-so-ever using several languages. Perfectly legit.

I'd probably go for subdomains or if you have the option, local domains.

Hi, I've two different language versions with subdomains and it works ok.
Btw, google doesn't translate each page to other languages to compare all possible duplicates.

My favorite sub-domain usage for language versions:

www.example.com - primary langauge site
www-fr.example.com - French language version
www-es.example.com - Spanish language version
www-de.example.com - German language version

etc. etc.
