After many many, months the Google results are now showing one of our key pages as being in the Google directory.

After the last update there was a back link from the DMOZ and I think the Google directory.

"Listing shows as being in Google directory, move ahead two places"! (isn't Google just like snakes and ladders?)

Chutes and Ladders, and sometimes it's like Candyland. Those two were always my favorites. Of course, sometimes Google is like Sorry and that's not as nice. ;)

Not yet updated fully.

DMOZ has recently (a month or six weeks ago) reorganized the category in which my new site was, and Google's directory still shows the old structure, without my site.

DMOZ and Google Directory do not yet show the current dmoz info that is available in the dmoz dump file. With that said, because the dump file contains the most recent changes, there are sites out there who use the dmoz info with the updated info.

To give you an idea, changes made by dmoz editors on many categories have been made, but have not updated on the dmoz site for almost two months now. So when they finally do update, it's going to be a pretty big change.

Correct, my site has been in one of the DMOZ mirrors for almost a month. But that mirror has low PR, I am waiting for the more valuable link from the Google directory.

Google finally updated their descriptions. Yea. Mine was changed on May 9th in DMOZ and today is the first time I have seen the updated description in a Google search. I just checked a few days ago. 3 months it took. Maybe that is why Google has not been doing much last week. since they were adding the data dump from DMOZ. I think they also cleaned out a lot of worthless links. Before Friday when I did a site:domain.com -asdf I got 103 results but only 68 of them showed up even after a &filter=0. Today it is at 58 but I can see all 58 and there is not junk or old stuff in there any more. I think last week was spring cleaning in the summer.

I saw a site from late March get a category link (it's a category that was created long ago, too) in the SERPs a couple of weeks ago, then a few days ago, a site from late June has also gained their link. The category, however, does not yet exist in the Google version of the directory. The category was new in June.

Interesting... When I search by the company name of one of my sites it shows that I am in the Google dir. But when I look at the listings its not there yet?

Dmoz is still upgrading the server. The up-to-date listing will not appear in the public side within the short time.

Since the dump file has the updated data. Google still takes the update one and so we can find out site listed in the google directory.

Google search results are showing updated links to Google Directory categories, but the Googe Directory itself has not been updated, so many of those categories do not yet exist at directory.google.com

The Google search results reflect the current category tree at dmoz.org.

The Google Directory does not.

Don't mean to be rude people, but c'mon!
Wait til you can actually see verifiable and consistent changes in the Google Directory (That would be on Google for those of you who apparently are looking at something else) and then write in and tell us all the directory has been updated. It hasn't been updated in months, it wasn't updated for months before that. So let's not get our panties in a twist until you can see for certain that there are verifiable changes on several servers in several categories.
