Hi All,
Great forum here - I've finally started making progress using all the info. I've gathered from these posts.

I worked on my site - and low and behold, I started ranking on the first page in Google for my keywords. I saw that Google spidered and cached my site two days in a row - and life was good.

Then, at about 1 PM today (CST) I noticed that I'd fallen completely out of the running. I did a search for my site - and saw that Google was using a cache of my site that is a week old - and pre-SEO.

I'm now back on the 4th page for my keyword.

However, when I look at www3.google.com - it's using the cache from the 26th (still not the best one, but it'll do).

My question is - Will Google go back to the most up to date page it has cached, or will it continue to use the old one. Also, is there anything I can do about it?

Thanks!
Sam

Strange concept of progress I might add.

Sampyxis, you've been here a while, and must have read hundreds of similar posts, usually with the suggestion to chill, work on your content and links, and wait for things to sort themselves out.
I can't add anything to that ;-)

Yea, thanks all - it's one of those sinking feelings that makes it hard to chill - but that's what I'll do.

Thanks again

Yeah, hold on there Sam.

If you saw it high in WW3 it will soon be that way in WWW.

Relax, create some content, have a life :-)

Well - thanks - I've taken my drugs so now I'm fine ;-)

Anyway - after I made that post - I looked this morning on www3.google.com - and now it has an older page also (from July 13th) - and I just check www2 also - same.

So, with some deep breathing - and sitting in a yoga position - I'll be able to wait this one through.

The bright side is that you haven't disappeared from the index altogether.
Then drugs or yoga cannot help in my experience.
I find standing on the edge of a steep cliff and getting some perspective(like getting dropped from google is better than dropping of a cliff)helps.Only marginally better but still better.
