PR up one, links the same ...

Seems weird to me

The PR on my site -- a new one launched on 3/1/03 -- was listed at 4 in the last dance and is now a 5. I love that I moved up, but I am wondering why the backlinks listed in Google are identical.

Why else would my PR go up that soon after launch if there is no commensurate increase in backlinks?

Just curious: How can you tell new pagerank. I thought the green bar changes near the end of the dance. Isn't it too soon to flicker up and down?

I don't know why, but the Google toolbar has the site as a five now. I am new at worrying about it, since my sites generally do very well on Google and Yahoo.

Truthfully, I do the sites and the SEO stuff largely for amusement. It keeps me in kibble and beer, but really is not something I do for my living.
