Have www2 and www3 always had a PR0? Of course my toolbar settings are set to pull PR from -sj right now.

Out of curiosity, why would you set you toolbar to pull PR results from the -SJ server.

Well with all the strange results there, I wanted to see what the PR of my sites were coming up as. Seems like a huge drop in backlinks in that index, but PR fairly stable. See some fluctuations, but not much.

With such a drop in back links, I don't think I would trust any type of results off that server right now.

The back links for Yahoo were cut in half by over 300K.

I seriously doubt Yahoo lost that many links.

It made for good weekend converstion and got everybody all spooked, but the fact is we won't know what it is until the dance actually takes place in a week or so.

Hi Mr Guy

What makes you say that Yahoo lost over 300k in backlinks?
Is there a reason why Google would deliberetaly do that?

I mean, what would be their purpose of doing such a thing?

Thanks

Look at the Google update checker here and compare the 4 data servers:

[webmasterworld.com...]

Also, the links showing for WW world are wrong. If you check them on SJ, they are actually 7800, so WW seems to of lost several thousands links as well on that server.

There is no possible way the SJ server can reflect what is to come with that many links gone missing.

Also, for my site when I check backlinks on SJ, it shows me the exact number I had two dances ago.

None of the links I've gotten in the last two months have been added.

Mr guy,

As far as backlinks go, I've pretty much had the same thing here too, off and on.

Whats your current PR now mrguy?

I've got a PR 6 working on a 7.

I got several good high PR links back to me in the last month that should help in my quest to reach a 7 and beyond.
