What are these?

I found results for my web site on a directory that basically mirrors the results for the Open Project Site. What is the site getting out of this and if this site has PR(0)will it affect my PR next update?

There are dozens of sites which mirror DMOZ data for their own purposes (portals or wannabe portals), most have a PR0 for duplicate content, that does not make them a bad neighbouhood.

Since most duplicate ALL of DMOZ any penalty against people they link to would give the most of the WWW a PR of zero :)

There are thousands of sites that copy the open directory. This is one of the reasons that the ODP is such a powerfull directory. DMOZ allow anyone to use the data from the open directory free of charge, so long as they abide by the ODP terms and conditions.

There are a lot of high profile sites that make goos use of this data. Google being the most notable. take a look at the Google directory and tell me you dont see the similarity ;-)

Very few job blogg users will even know the open directory exists. The majority of odp traffic will come from partners.

Thanks for the info. On the subject of DMOZ and Google directories, I have seen many web sites with just one these listed in backlinks, either DMOZ or Google, not both. Is this as common as it appears to me and if so why?

Google doesnt list the entire category. They tweek the category and some sites get dropped. It also has to be said that sometimes the updated RDF dump from dmoz is not ready on time and sometimes google directory is running a bit behind as a result of this. This can mean that sites in odp have not yet been included in Google. Or sites that have been removed from ODP are still in Google directory awaiting update from DMOZ.

Thousands of backlinks of both the google directory and the Dmoz directory are not showing this update. If you are seeing a situation where one or the other is not listed this is very, very common this month. Should be back to normal this month.

Does Google ever keep a site in its directory that was dropped from DMOZ?

For example, after Google got the final data dump?

No, once it's gone from ODP its days are numbered at the Google Open Directory.

Google could change that if they wanted (it would be legal use based on the license) but IMO they're not likely to. A significant effort constantly goes into removing dead links and hijacked-domain spam from the ODP; Google would need a very good reason not to take advantage of that effort.
