Here is the history. 9 months ago I built a site and it got a PR7 shortly after it went live. Well 4 months later it dropped down to 6, 4,and now 3. I figured it may have been my luck. So I left the site alone since Christmas and have not touched it. Now the the present.

Last week we changed the IPs on our servers and my listings jumped back up to number one in google and its partner sites. The coincidence is that another site on our server had the same results, listings out the back door.

I was wondering if anyone has noticed this with google? I was also wondering if google spiders IPs?

Miles... well it sounds as if one (or a group) of sites on that same old IP address you had was either banned because of spam abuse or similar behavior.

It's always better to have it's own, unique IP just to prevent that sort of thing from happening.

I'M happy that your serps' are back up!

Good luck

SEO_prac They all had their own unique IPs thats the weird thing and none of them were used for spamming.

The serps are a passing advantage its my hobbie site.

Thanks

Was it a Geocities site by any chance? You start with a PR7 until you get into Google. I am testing this right now and am still not indexed, so still a derived PR7 so far. I have looked at other GC sites and they have the usual variation of PR.

Anyone know how soon Geocities is deep crawled for member sites?
